The last patch was 11.17, released on August 25th 2021. Several powerful champions, including Lee Sin, Nidalee, Rakan, Riven, Yasuo, and Heimerdinger, were nerfed in the latest patch. Draven, Gwen, Kayle, Giant Slayer, and Skirmisher have been massively buffed, and Viego has been adjusted. The Sentinel and Spellweaver traits have also been reworked.

LoL Patch 11.18 Delayed

The League of Legends patch 11.18, originally scheduled to release on September 9th, has been delayed. The Developer Team tweeted that the patch has been delayed by a day due to the Labor Day holiday in the US. So now, it will be releasing on the 10th of September 2021. However, they did give us a preview of the 11.18 patch!

LoL Patch 11.18 Preview

League of Legends lead game designer Jeevun Sidhu has tweeted a preview of the upcoming 11.18 patch. He also mentioned that this patch is only part 1 of the entire Worlds project. Jeevun Sidhu explained in a statement on the 27th of August what the pro players can expect from the two upcoming patches. After patch 11.18 will have all the large updates, patch 11.19, the second patch before Worlds Championship, will have smaller updates and rework changes if necessary. He explained that they wanted to see some new champions at Worlds since picking the same buffed champions can be boring.

Reminder: this is effectively part 1 of our Worlds patches (11.19 will finish it off). Also, just for Worlds, we didn’t limit the patch by requiring matching buffs with nerfs 1 for 1. pic.twitter.com/lexuNNK4vc — Jeevun Sidhu (@JeevunSidhu) August 30, 2021 We checked out the preview for patch 11.18, and boy are those heavy changes! In this patch, 23 champions have been buffed. Nine champions are also being nerfed in this patch, several of which are used frequently in championships. There are also a few system buffs this time.

System Buffs

Predator: It makes sense why LoL chose to buff this system since it is currently underused as a rune. Umbral Glaive: Similarly to the system above, this item is under purchased compared with the Serpent Spang and Yomu’s Ghostblade.

Champion Nerfs

Aphelios Jayce Kalista Lee Sin Ashe Renekton Thresh Trundle Varus

All of these champions have been nerfed in this patch. We’ve seen many of these champions nerfed before, and some of them aren’t even that overused. Some of these champions were used in the Regional Championship, however. Over the past several weeks, the Renekton has been heavily picked. Thresh, Ashe, and Lee Sin have always been extremely OP, so it makes sense to nerf them. Due to the focus of this patch update on preparing for Worlds, most of these nerfs are not suitable for solo queue.

Champion Buffs

Dr Mundo Draven Fizz Gangplank Jinx Kai’Sa Karma Kog’Maw (AP) Lilia Miss Fortune Morgana Qiyana Rumble Singed Soraka Taliyah Talon Twitch Urgot Yone Yuumi Zed Zoe

With 23 champions buffed, this LoL patch update is going to be crazy! Some much-needed changes are coming with these buffs, including the Gangplank. Because of the nerf, Gangplank has been performing horribly, so this buff should definitely help! Due to Kai’Sa, Twitch, Jinx, and Draven, there will be a lot more options for the bottom lane. As a result of the buff of odd champions like Kiana, Talon, and Zed, jungle play will also see a lot of different champs. We have provided you with all the details we have so far on how much the champions have been nerfed or buffed, although we do not have the exact numbers. As the developers of League of Legends release any new Patch previews, more updates will be coming out! Overall, even though the patch will be released a day late on the 10th of September, there are many things to look forward to! I hope you feel the same excitement as we do.
